Bats

Oh, yeah, and the boys love to "hit" the batting cages!

Acting

You take 4 boys (age 7,9,9 and 38) to the Shakespeare Festival in Boulder and you have them watch not just one but TWO plays ... Sounds like a recipe for disaster, huh?
Actually we had a blast! We saw Tracy's cousin, Charles, (pictured with said boys -- except for the old one shooting the picture) in "Alls Well That Ends Well" and then we saw "Around the World in 80 Days" (yes, I know William didn't write the latter play, but it still counts!)
And we had a great time. This is the second time I've been to the Festival and I am still impressed with the great quality of the performances (especially Charles who kicks butt as Bertram and also plays a baddie in Julius Ceasar).

Visitor

My nephew, Austin, is staying with us for a couple weeks (his parents live in Seattle). Austin is 5 months younger than Alex, but he's about three times Alex's height (or close to it).

Anyway, we've been having a great time. Alex and Andy love having another person in the house to help drive Tracy completely nuts. It's hard living so far from my family, so it's especially nice to have this connection time with Austin.

We're planning to hit Boulder this weekend for the Shakespear Festival (Tracy's cousin, Charles, is in two plays). Then, we're going to Elitch Gardens (anybody been since Six Flags sold it? Still looks good, but pricey!). Then we're off to Grand Lake for some fun in the mountains for a few days.

The other day, my Uncle Bill came up to have lunch with us. Above a pic of the crew.

Old churches

We saw a bunch of old churches throughout Santa Fe (I think they have more than that there, but that's what we saw mostly). These crosses were really cool looking. They are about 12-15 feet high near a church in a town I can't pronounce. Dirt from the floor of one corner of the church is supposed to have healing powers. So, yes, we have a bunch of dirt at our house in case our HMO runs out.

Back with a bite

Got back from our Santa Fe, Alamosa, Canon City trip. Pretty fun.
This pic is from the Gator Farm near the Great Sand Dunes. Notice the wuss who ain't touching the baby croc!
